It’s Saturday morning and as my sons are older now, their soccer matches start late in the afternoon so I have more time to sleep in. As my children are growing into independent and capable adults, I find that I have more time to myself to spend on news, emails, Facebook and writing yet compared to ten years ago, I cannot do much after work and at the weekends as my physical and emotional energy are declining on the path of life. But wait there’s more!

And thirty years later …..
Thirty years later, a defector, I return to my country. Each street corner brings a flood of fear, memory and emotion.

Even though I never wished to come back to Vietnam, my husband wanted to show our teenage sons where we were born. I needed a holiday afterwards to recuperate from the emotional stress.
Mixed emotions churned inside me as I saw Saigon after thirty years. But wait there’s more!

Want to migrate and mixed with other peoples.
The communist elites deem Vietnam fearsome:
“Polluted air, unsafe food and poor health system”.
