The person who brought McDonald into Vietnam in February 2014 is a son of former South Vietnam official whose family escaped Vietnam on the last day of the Vietnam war and settled in America. He is now married to the daughter of the CURRENT Vietnamese Communist Prime Minister.

IDG Ventures Vietnam is part of the IDG Ventures which manages five local global funds of $700 million USD.
