  2. The wonders of the Internet. It is so wonderful you discovered B&S About Movies in the U.S. from so far away. Thank you. I read your wonderful writing as well; I was not aware of the cultural connection between Vietnam and Australia. So you have opened my eyes to a new world. Your music is equally wonderful, as well. I know a little about the music from your side of the globe, as result of the Korean and Hong Films I’ve reviewed. Several have those country’s pop stars in them (Daughther stared Yanny Chan of the Cantopop girl group Super Girls; Jung Eun-ji, the lead singer of the band Apink, and Lee Sung-yeol from the boy-band Infinite, appear in 0.0 MHz, are two film reviews that come to mind at the moment).

Keep creating, for it is life.

  4. Interesting… past my bed time now, but just wanted to post a comment so I can find this blog later.

Your family history is similar to some of mine. And the languages you speak or sing in overlaps mine as well.

  5. hiMe…Thank you for your story. This is a journey of courage, love, pain, suffering and joy! There was always a candle of hope burning inside of you and that comes from God which you express and share so well here and elsewhere I’m sure. May God bless you and yours, and by your example we can see God’s plan at work, as it unfolds in accordance with His will. Amen. Lawrence

      • Thanks Lawrence Morra for your comments. I believe in God. It’s the people who created such thins as representatives of God in religious that have tainted God’s name with scandals of sex abuse uncovered recently…

      • You’re welcome hiMe…I think I see what you are aiming at. But God’s representatives are many and can be any of us at a given moment through the Holy Spirit is able to touch or guide us as instruments of God. Saints are real, people who rose above mundane or plain simple earthly flesh living to become true instruments of God to serve Him in a special way and these persons were horribly tested many times with torture and many torments most of the time leading to their early demise or death. God’s plan is unfolding before our very eyes and we can know this easily from the prophesy that was given to us from God Himself over the millennia. But, while this is an ongoing process in an imperfect material realm of existence temptation and sin abound all around us not just in certain places or by some persons tainted God’s name. All are capable of sin or that person would be Holy and not here. We are all corrupted from original sin and living in a world of a multitude of sins which the evil one Satan is using against any of us even in any Churches. Jim Jones founded his People’s Temple Church a Church which was a splinter Church of the Reformation movement and he led all of his followers to drink poison all 909 committing suicide. Sex scandals abound in all walks of life and Churches are not immune to them or impervious to any sins be they sexual, theft, lying or cheating, sin finds its way into all places and into all peoples. I know the Catholic Church is corrupted like any others and that tells me to be cautious and to discern carefully the truth from the fiction or this corruption, but I would never think it wise to throw the baby out with the dirty bath water. You and I have to remember the Devil’s greatest tools is Deception and he is the father of all lies so thinking that we can pick a side to be a part of or join this Church or that one will not solve the problem or stop all of this trouble we are in as a race of human beings. But, choosing sides is exactly what people are doing now and this is what the Devil wants because it’s always been the best battle strategy and still is of divide and then conquer. The Devil wants us all fighting and hating each other until we eventually destroy ourselves and ruin God’s ultimate plan which is to save us from sin and our own corruptions in order for us the lost sheep and truly imperfect to be able to join God in His eternal glorious Holy Kingdom. That is the only goal that matters to me. Everything else is vanity and deceptions.
I was just writing to another good connection of mine here who I recently met like you and I have. I’ll leave you these verses that are part of the comment to her and I had just recently written a blog post with them.
“Vanity of vanities, says the Preacher, Vanity of vanities! All is vanity” (Ecclesiastes 1:2,
Romans 8:20 says that all creation was subjected to vanity because of God’s curse. When Adam sinned, God cursed all that He had made (Genesis 3:17–19). In other words, perfection was lost. All of creation is now falling short of its original purpose; rather than working in harmony with God and creation, inhabitants of the earth have turned on each other and against God. We still reel from the effects of that curse. Everything meant to be right side up is upside down. The chaos and insanity of the world as we know it are due to the fact that God has subjected creation to vanity until the time when it will be set free (Romans 8:21).
hiMe, I really hope the things I say are of some help to you and that God’s Holy Spirit is fully in your heart guiding you now and always. Peace and God’s love to you.
        Lawrence

  9. Your photos (and their captions) reminded me of what you people have gone through a long time ago. I was just a seven year old kid then, but already onto some words like “napalm” and “refugees” and “Pham Van Dong” and so many others that until today I still scan through footages and pictures of the war which I missed on TV during those days.

October last year when I had the opportunity to visit what was once the Vietnamese refugee camp here in the PHilippines — in Morong, Bataan. It’s hard to resist not to take some shots. (http://wp.me/pcoJO-5Vj) Even harder is not to be immersed at the misfortunes just by looking at the faces on the pictures.

The refugee camp today looks cold and desolate and deserted now. In more ways, it’s a joy seeing the place as it is today knowing you people have made it out of there, have better lives now and out of the nightmare.

    Good day hiMe!
